I bought a pair of Sanuk sandals the other day. It sells for Php3200 at retail but I got it during a mall-wide sale at Trinoma for half the price. It sells at US$60 online for the style I got (I love apple green). Yes, it’s a real bargain for the comfort that you get. I was thinking if I’d buy a pair of Crocs over these, but since they didn’t participate in the price drop, and the discounted Sanuk was almost the same price as the Crocs, and it’s hands-down way cooler than the clog looking footwear, I got those nice lightweight classy pair of sandals.

Sorry folks, Crocs ain’t classy and you can show up with a client wearing those unless you’re a chef, or unless he’s wearing the same thing as you do. Oh by the way, this is not a shoe wear review. I’ll do that next time. But I’m thinking of getting another pair of flipflops from Sanuk. No more Havaianas for me for now. My last pair broke down about a year ago. Maybe next time. For real shoes, I’d recommend getting TOMS Shoes. TOMS is not a guy’s name. Rather, its short for Tomorrow’s shoes. This company was started by Blake Mycoskie in 2006 after visiting Argentina and seeing children who needed shoes on their feet. Yeah, he’s the same guy who raced around the world with her sister Paige in the Amazing Race. I remember they were called Team Smiley because they were a fun bunch. I don’t think they ever fought each other during the race.

The idea is that everytime you buy a pair of shoes, they gave a pair away to another kid out there in need of shoes. TOMS shoes are mostly alpargadas, which are South African inspired shoes. Get your TOMS now and make one more shoeless kid happy. Watch the Video.
