CAREER OBJECTIVE
To further my personal desire to express myself creatively by being involved in projects that focuses on improving Philippine tourism and media, and where my skills and previous experience will provide further advancement for both the industry and the supporting organization.

PROFILE
Karlo de Leon is a Multimedia promotions consultant, Travel photographer who advocates responsible travel and sustainable tourism. Based in Manila, Philippines, he has built his reputation shooting on assignment for both local and international commercial markets – Aside from this, his works graces numerous lifestyle and travel publications and has done commercial lifestyle works here and abroad for either video or photography – Travel and Leisure, Balikbayan, Metro Home, and Manila Bulletin Travel to name a few.

He has appeared on several TV shows on the topic of media and tourism including The Probe Team, Central Luzon TV (CLTV), Tribe (of NET25), and The Good Life (Channel 23).

Karlo carries a business degree from the University of the Philippines and has a strong 7-year background in technical training and development. Karlo conducts basic and advanced photography workshops with different organizations, corporations, and the academe and also taught photography at the School of Design and Arts of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

He is currently a Media Promotions Consultant for Travel Tales Inc. and continues to do consulting work for different organizations on customer service, tourism, training, and media while pursuing a career in filmmaking.

He qualified for several art shows as a child and finally becoming a Cartoonist for the Cosmic News – the official publications of OB Montessori Center where he took his secondary education.

He has been exposed to community organizations that provided  him with leadership skills since 1995 when he joined and became a member of the International Order of DeMolay – an international fraternity founded in 1919 based in the US. He served as Senior Steward in 1996 and Junior Deacon in 1997 until he left for college where he served the UP Corps of Cadets until he finished as Cadet 1st Lieutenant and Company Commander of the UP Special Forces Unit in Pampanga. He was also a member of UP Samahang Magaaral Na Nagkakaisa (SAMANA), Heritage Conservation Society, Youth Trip Philippines, and Framed Shots Camera Club.

He was a youth adviser at Church So Blessed from November 2008 – March 2009 until he moved on to pioneer and head the Multimedia Ministry of the same church – being in charge of Web Development, Photo and Video Documentation, and Graphic Design. In March 2010, the church created the Film Production Team which he again spearheaded and pioneered to create video based promotional materials and Christian based films.

He will be continuing his studies by taking a Master’s Degree in Development Communication at the University of the Philippines as it is his desire to help promote cultural identity through multimedia and filmmaking.
